Ugly Duckling’s Andy Cooper Flies Solo for New EP

andy cooper free EPHot off the heels of Ugly Duckling’s UK tour, hip-hop veteran and lyrical master Andy Cooper has released his first debut solo project, “The Free EP”.

The Free EP features six tracks where Cooper pushes the boundaries of lyrical possibility (the song ‘Number One’ may well contain the fastest verse ever spit). As a producer, arranger and DJ, Cooper provides old school, sample-rich sound with a modern, electro twist.

Cooper is giving the songs away (hence the title) on his new site Ear to the Track http://eartothetrack.net/– an outlet for Andy’s fascinating insights and observations about the world of popular music. From topics such as ‘Hip-Hop and jihad’, to incredibly weird stories about Elvis Presley’s trained monkey, Ear to the Track is a godsend for true music fans of any generation.

Cooper has been a member of underground hip-hop mainstay Ugly Duckling since 1993 and over the past 20 years, he has performed in more than thirty countries while co-producing and arranging critically acclaimed albums like ‘Journey To Anywhere’ and hit songs ‘A Little Samba’ and ‘Turn It Up’.

The Free EP is now available to download on Eartothetrack.net
