Much to the delight of South West fans, Ben Howard will be bringing his band back to his home county of Devon on 27th April, 2015 for the final tour date at Plymouth Pavilions.
Ben Howard is a familiar face in Cornwall. He studied Journalism at Falmouth University for a couple of years before deciding to pursue a career in music; one that began with numerous gigs around pubs and venues across Cornwall and Devon, and led to an introduction and long-lasting relationship with Cornish-based music promoters, SW1 Productions.
Since then, his career has gone from strength to strength. He won two Brit Awards last year and this summer, he performed on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury and headlined the Somersault Festival alongside artists such as Jack Johnson.
Famous for his songs including ‘Keep Your Head Up’ and ‘Only Love’, Howard has become a favourite on the folk scene, and his lap guitar skills and haunting vocals continue to win him fans from all over the globe.
Unlike many successful musicians, you won’t find Howard parading down red carpets posing for the paparazzi; in fact you’re more likely to find him surfing somewhere in the South West.
He might only have one South West date for this tour, but he’ll no doubt be back in Cornwall and Devon in the not-too-distant future, headlining festivals and doing what he does best – by the sea.
