Andrew Barnes, the front man and songwriter of Evil Twin, an up-and-coming indie-rock band from Bristol, is coming to The Nightjar on 16th October, 2013 to give a rare and intimate solo performance.
His songwriting cleverly blends a mix of Alex Turner, Jeff Buckley, and Band of Skulls, while flowing and rolling melodies tie together with wise lyrics. His vocal tone is fresh and raw and he captivates his audience.
Originally from the surfer town of Bude in Cornwall, Andrew moved to Bristol to improve his lyrical skills by studying a degree at the Bristol Institute of Modern Music (BIMM). It was here where he met his Evil Twin band mates: Anton Larkin on bass and backing vocals, Louis Armstrong Jones on second guitar, and Nathan Burch on drums. Since then, they have since been conquering Bristol by delivering killer sets and unexpectedly energetic and dramatic performances to an ever-growing crowd.
On the 16th October, there is a one-off chance to see a stripped back and vulnerable rendition of the Evil Twin set at The Nightjar in Truro. With just Andrew’s talented vocals and guitar, the songs will be left to breathe, while taking vengeance on the world of rock and breaking hearts.
Entry: £3 on the door.
Time: 8pm to 11pm.
