Ruarri Joseph is finally returning to where it all started. This month will see the highly-anticipated headline gig from the critically-acclaimed singer songwriter after a well-deserved three year break with his family.
Off the back of the extensive tour of his album Brother, Ruarri Joseph is ready to get back on the road with a full band promoting his new EP Cold Ontario; touring much of Europe and the UK, while stopping off at Mount Pleasant Eco Park in Porthtowan, Cornwall on 29th November, 2014.
After the huge success of his previous album Brother, the singer-songwriter is set for big things with his new release. Joseph’s new EP Cold Ontario features new unreleased music; some of which is recorded with his usual live band, and some of which is recorded with some new musicians in Neil Halstead’s studio in Newquay, (who, for the first time; Ruarri has brought on board to help with the production).
Cornwall has a special place in Joseph’s heart, although he didn’t originate in the South West; he has spent much of his adult life here after the birth of his first child.
Much of the new EP, as well as his new studio album, have both been written in his studio in the depths of Cornwall, with the countryside having a profound influence on his infamous folk and blues sound. Ruarri Joseph is known for his clever melodic rhythms and poetic song writing, creating a unique folk and blues acoustic sound which is consistently widely-received and respected across the nation and industry.
Since the release of his debut album Tales of Grime and Grit in 2007, Ruarri Joseph left the label he first signed to, and continued to make music under his own label Pip Productions. He has since released three studio albums, various EPs and a live album; with his fifth studio album set for release in 2015.
This new tour promises long-awaited new material as well as firm favourites for all of the loyal Joseph fans. Support on the night will come from Cornwall duo, Lily and Meg.
Don’t miss what is set to be a very special show.
