Croatia Turns up Heat with Scorching Music Festivals this Summer

With more than 5,800km of rugged coastline fringing the aquamarine Adriatic Sea, nearly, 2,000 islands, and endless white-sand beaches, Croatia is a picturesque country in Central Europe, rich in history, culture, and sunshine.

Aside from its endless natural beauty, music festivals in Croatia are plentiful, and this summer the country’s beaches, islands and sea will host some of the world’s best DJs and music acts.

Here are a few music festivals happening in Croatia this summer:

Love International

Created by Croatian odyssey, The Garden Festival, Love International will make its debut this summer at the Garden Resort in the coastal town of Tisno.

With multiple venues ranging from yachts and floating pontoons, to beach nightclubs and tree-lined parkland, the music event offers a wide range of options for partygoers.

Listen to some of the world’s leading underground DJs and producers on the beach at sunset, aboard a boat on the sapphire sea, or dance under the twinkling stars into the early hours.

Music acts for the first festival include Axel Boman, Ben UFO, Bicep, Craig Richards, Dixon, Eats Everything, Gerd Janson, Horse Meat Disco, Hunee, Jackmaster, Job Jobse, Joy Orbison, Midland, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Prosumer and Roman Flugel.

There are a variety of accommodation options including gleaming airstreams with toilets and showers, wooden yachts, village apartments, luxury boutique camping in Indian Shikar tents, colourful Podpads, and traditional camping.

Love International - Eats Everything

Also taking place in the idyllic Garden Resort in the fishing town of Tisno, Soundwave is one of Europe’s best festivals now in its eighth year. Set in a secret cove in the heart of the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, the festival is spread over five days, and has three festival stages, the Argonaughty ship, and legendary open air after-party club, Barbarella.

This year’s line-up includes Pharoahe Monch, Calibre, Mala, Craig Charles, Fatima & The Eglo Band live, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Channel One Sound System, Riot Jazz, Romare, Harleighblu, Clap, Akala, Josey Rebelle and many more.

With its diverse music offerings including reggae, afro to acid jazz, hip-hop, soul, funk, and drum and bass, Soundwave combines a sunshine holiday with eclectic music in one of Europe’s most beautiful coastal settings.

Dimensions Festival

Set across an abandoned 19th century fort and a 2000-year old Roman Amphitheatre in Stinjan in Croatia, Dimensions Festival is an underground electronic music festival with a range of house, techno, world, disco, dubstep and other electronic sounds, playing day and night.

With chill-out beach sessions, vibrant boat parties, and massive nights in the ancient amphitheatre, the festival is one of the most vibrant and unique in Europe.

This year’s line-up includes Ben Klock, Mood II Swing, Kamasi Washington, Moodymann, Ben UFO, Midland, Moritz Van Oswald, Kyle Hall, Darkstar, Benji B, Mim Suleiman, Sassy J, and many more.

There will be an Opening Concert on 24th August, the night before the festival opens, with Massive Attack headlining. Separate tickets are required for this event.

There’s a range of accommodation options available including boutique camping, hostels and mobile homes, and the nearest airport is Pula.
